The Worship Ministry is a very active team overseeing Cross and Crown's worship services, helping people celebrate their relationship with God and with one another through different worship expressions. Ministry members work closely with the pastor, music director and congregation to provide regular worship services conducted in accordance with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's liturgy. Also, by the work of the Altar Guild, the Worship Ministry cares for the paraments, vestments, and other worship furnishings. And in conjunction with the Music Director appropriate liturgical settings, hymns, anthems by the choir, and other music are chosen for each worship service.
The Worship Ministry develops and distributes regular Sunday and special worship schedules for ushers, acolytes, crucifers worship assistants, and communion assistants throughout the church year. It actively seeks feedback from the congregation, which is shared with all the ministry members to ensure individual Cross and Crown voices are heard and considered as worship services and their music are planned. The ministry regularly coordinates purchases of Easter Lilies, greens for Hanging of the Green, Christmas Poinsettias, and special sanctuary decorations to reflect the seasons of the church calendar year.
